MSU Extension hosted FARMtastic this past Saturday, and the kids LOVED it! It was a very rare Saturday that we had nothing to do, so we took them up there before doing a little grocery shopping.
They got to pretend milk a cow. Austin thought she was a pro. :)
And then, of course, see the real animals. Goats were definitely the fave.
Then they had different sections set up with all kinds of farming, and explained all about what came from what crop. It was so neat. Austin took a pic with the wheat for Gammy. :) (She's allergic to wheat.)
Proud soybean farmer right here. :)
I know that I didn't take photos at every station, but here was the fish...
They made bean necklaces with wet cotton balls, and a few days later the bean sprouted.
Fruit farming...
Digging for "worms," and learning about vegetable farms.
Learning about animal tracks...
Learning about leaves in the forestry section...
Learning to rope. :)
Bennett just wanted to play with the toys, and was pretty mad when we made him move on. :)
He did love this...
We appreciate MSU and the Extension service for doing this!! It was SO much fun, and hopefully lots of people went out and learned more about FARMS!!
