Ice Days

Mississippi and ice don't mix well.  As the rest of America can see.  We are not prepared for a lot of ice or snow, and it is a very rare occurrence for us.  I never do the whole stockpiling thing before a storm, but this time I was seriously out of milk and bread, and a few other snacks that we keep around, so I decided to brave the crowd after ballet on Monday, and go to Walmart.  Oh. My. Word.  I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN.  We waited in line for the longest time, and thankfully, the kids were pretty good.  Bennett got tired of waiting, but I promised him cookies.  Judge me.  I don't care.  :)  He ate the whole little snack container on the way home.

We went after ballet, and were there for so long that I had no time to cook dinner. I had chicked thawed out for a casserole, so I just put it on to boil for the next night, and gave the kids some cereal. They were happy as can be. They would eat cereal 3x a day if I would let them. I thought it was cute that Bennett now copies Austin in drinking the milk at the end. Ha!  They are 2 peas in a pod.

On Tuesday, school was cancelled so we decided to spend the day with daddy.  Austin went with him to a meeting, and then we met for lunch.

This is what our house looked like when I left for lunch...

After lunch, we rode down to check on the farm. Bennett loves that there are a ton of legos at the camp house.

Everything ended up being shut down on Wednesday also.  I was about to go stir crazy, but thankfully church wasn't cancelled. Of course we had to wear our matching Valentine's tshirts. :)

After church, Ben and I left for a couple's Valentine's getaway with some of our best friends! Post to come about that soon!
