i'm versatile, and oh so lovely. :)

i was so happy today to see that i got 2 blog awards, the lovely blog, and the versatile blogger, from nickie over at southern expressions!  thank you soooo much, nickie!!

Here are the rules to accepting the first award:
  • Thank and link back to who gave you the award.
  • Share 7 things about yourself.
  • Pass it along to 15 blogs you’ve recently discovered and enjoy
  • Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award
And the second:
  • Post and link it on your blog with the name of the giver.
  • Pay it forward to other bloggers that you have newly discovered.
  • Contact those blog owners and let them know they’ve been chosen.
ok, here are 7 things that you may or may not want to know about me.  :)
  1. my worst habit is biting my lip and the inside of my mouth.  i will keep doing it, and doing it until my mouth gets so sore that i have to use numbing gel.
  2. i super duper hate fingernails.  in cosmetology, i gagged my way through nail training.  literally.  i hate clipping my own fingernails, and my daughter's.  i try to clip in a way that the nail falls directly into the trash can, or i have to use piece of toilet paper or paper towel to pick it up, and throw it away.  they disgust me.  i've recently started trimming our nails outside.  easier for me and my o.c.d.
  3. i don't think if i've ever posted this about myself, but i'm really short.  like 5 feet and zero inches.  the hubs... he's 6'1".  now you women can understand why i seriously could not breathe when my 21.75 inch baby was inside of me.
  4. i feel like i'm 102 years old when i walk inside of an american eagle store, but their jeans are the only ones that i like and wear.  i'm on a mission to find a new brand, because i cannot keep shopping there.  i just can't.
  5. i want bleu cheese on my hamburger, and lots of it.  and some bleu cheese dressing to dip my pizza in.  and my fries.
  6. i'm a shop-a-holic.  my husband currently has me in a shop-a-holics anonymous group.  just kidding, but if he knew of one, he would definitely sign me up.  and i'm not kidding about that.
  7. i'm terrified of horses, but i will pet their head.  i think they are beautiful animals, and i really want to love them and ride them, but i can't.  too scared.
i don't know if these blogs were necessarily "recently discovered," but i love them, and know you will too!  :)
  1. leslie at there's mud and a big bow on my monogrammed apron - i found her blog through adoption (they are logged into the china program), and she had just had her baby girl when i found her.  which by the way, her baby girl has the BEST wardrobe EVER. :)
  2. karen at karen at home - i really honestly can't remember how i found karen's blog.  either i found her through twitter, or she found my blog and commented.  either way, her daughter jillian is adorable, and she makes me wish sometimes that i lived further north where it's cooler.  :)
  3. veronica at it's "a" sweet life - i "met" veronica in cyber-space through her hat business, and have so enjoyed following her along through life, including adding a little one to the family!  she has recently gotten into baking beautiful cupcakes, which always make me hungry.  :)
  4. adrienne at another ordinary miracle - (she probably doesn't have time to respond to this, but i wanted to include her!) she has been such an inspiration to me.  i saw a prayer request for her (on twitter, i think?) and her baby boy, bennett a while back.  i have been addicted to this blog, and check it every single night for an update on baby bennett.  would you please follow her and join us in prayer for them!?
  5. brandi at southern grace - i found brandi through twitter (we have the same blog designer), and discovered that her little sweet pea is almost the same age as mine, so it has been fun to follow her along. also an added bonus that she's a southern belle. :)
  6. katie at cleared for takeoff - katie is the blog designer that i mentioned above, and she is SO good at coming up with ways to decorate on a budget.  she never ceases to amaze me.  she has a little cutie-patootie too, and she also makes me really jealous that she lives in nashville, and i don't. :)
  7. grace at gracefully gluten-free - this is my mom, but no, i didn't feel obligated to put her on my list.  :)  she blogs about my peanut some, when we see her, but she mostly blogs to help others, and to raise awareness about celiac disease.  she has been gluten-free for years now, due to celiac and allergies.  my grandma (her mom) died at 60 from undiagnosed celiac, so she is very passionate about it.  if you know of anyone that is diagnosed with celiac and has questions, or was told to eat gluten-free for whatever reason, she is the blog to read, and the person to ask.
ok, i think that's enough.  i'm getting a headache from thinking too much.  :)  y'all enjoy!

Thank you for the award!!
I think the confession about the fingernail clipping is hilarious but I am totally on the same page as you with the horse thing. I am terrified of horses andI even grew up around them but will never go near one.
