special devotion

after i wrote this post about layla grace and a little of what God is doing in my life through her last night, i went to bed, and this was my devotion for the night...

"when they walk through the valley of weeping it will become a place of springs where pools of blessing and refreshment collect after rains!"  -psalm 84:6

i immeditaly started crying.

the valley of weeping has been described as the longest valley in the world, heavily populated with turmoil, fear, perplexity, suffering, uncertainty, bitterness, rejection, and pain.

the Lord knows that sometime we will go through this valley.  but the psalmist says that we will walk through it.  this implies an exit.

and in the valley He is our strength.  "as thy days, so shall thy strength be."  -deut. 33:25

His strength is sufficient for each day as it comes, whatever it holds.  His strength is made perfect for each day.  the Lord told paul, "My strength is made perfect in weakness."  -2 cor. 12:9

(taken from he is real, by millie stamm)

don't you just love it when God does that??  He always knows just what i need to hear!

ben and i spent a long time last night talking about miracles.  we both wish and pray that God would perform a miracle and heal layla grace.  we don't understand His ways at all in situations like this.  verses like those above are just reassurance that He is in control!

Very inspiring Ashia... I read about Layla Grace yesterday after hearing you talking about her... It just breaks my heart to see a precious young child like that suffer from such an awful disease. I really enjoyed your little devotional that you shared. Thanks!!
