FIGHT for preemies!!

as many of you know, november is...
prematurity awareness month
bloggers unite has partnered with march of dimes for bloggers to post today, the 17th, to raise awareness.

i have never been directly affected by a baby being born prematurely, in my family, or extended family and friends.  UNTIL our sweet baby, austin rivers, tried to come at 35 weeks, and ended up being born 4 weeks prematurely, at 36 weeks.  she was fully developed, could breathe and suck on her own, so we thank God everyday that we didn't have to spend time in the NICU, and that He was already protecting her.  we weren't sure what to expect when she was born, but He was in control!

many stories out there aren't as happy-ending as ours.  many are filled with fear, hurt, pain, loss, etc.  premature birth is a real crisis that needs attention.

in the united states alone, the rate of premature babies has increased 36% in 25 years.  in most cases, the reasons are unknown.  we need to fight for answers... and ultimately, prevention!

today is dedicated to raising awareness of the crisis of premature birth.  the march of dimes invites bloggers like you to get involved...
• learn about premature birth at marchofdimes.com/fightforpreemies
• put a badge on your blog during November, Prematurity Awareness Month®
• blog today for a baby you love and to help others

we need to fight - because babies shouldn’t have to.

Thank you for posting for our Fight for Preemies event and helping us get the word out. Prematurity is a growing problem that we need to get our arms around.
I love the photo on your masthead, BTW.
